Psychologists
have been coming up with lots of theories about motivation. They have
been busy answering questions on what it is, where it comes from and why

it.

The most obvious place one needs to be motivated is the
workplace. Most of us are motivated to succeed at work. Professor
Cooper found that a large percentage of successful

people
had lost a parent, been left by a parent or suffered other tragic loss
before the age of eighteen. Cooper claimed that their reason for seeking
success is not to achieve power over others, but to gain control over
what is happening in their lives.

Here are some tips to
help boost your motivation. Firstly, eat well and exercise. A fat
stomach is not going to make you very energetic. Secondly, it is useful
to define your goals by writing them down. Thirdly, hang around positive
people. If the people you spend your free time with are constantly
complaining about life, maybe it's better you looked for new companions.
Sleep well and take breaks and holidays. By putting these ideas into
practice, you will enjoy higher levels of motivation and a better
quality of life.

The
idea of Mother's day is a very old idea. The idea dates back to the
ancient Egyptians' who celebrated a day to honour Isis, the mother of
the pharaohs. The Egyptians were not the only ones who felt the need to

Rhea, the mother of gods. The Romans built a temple to the mother of the
gods, named Magna Mater.
They also held a celebration
every March in her honour. The Christians celebrated a day to honour

Julie had trained months for this race, and she hoped she and her
dogs would win. Hour after hour, day after day, Julie's dogs pulled the
sled in order to get in shape for the race. Now, they ran over
snowy hills and down into frozen valleys. They stopped only to rest and
eat. They wanted to stay ahead of the other teams. The racers had to go a
thousand miles across Alaska. The dogs' thick fur coats helped keep
them warm in the cold wind and weather. In many places along the route,
the snow was deep. Pieces of ice were as sharp as a knife. The ice could
cut the dogs' feet. To keep that from happening, Julie had put special
booties on their feet.
At first, the dogs seemed to pull the sled very slowly. They were
still getting used to the race. But on the third day out, they began to
pull more quickly. When they finally reached the finish line, they found
out that they had come in first place! It was a great day for Julie and
her dogs.

Constellations are groups of stars, and today there are 88
officially recognized constellations. Each is named for a figure or
object that astronomers saw when they viewed the star group. Most of the
constellations are named after characters in mythology.
Hercules, Draco, Orion, and The Great Bear are just a few. Others are
named after the signs of the zodiac, like Sagittarius, Capricorn, and
Scorpion. One of the best-known constellations is the Big Dipper. If
you've ever seen it in the sky, then you know it looks like a scooper or
a dipper. But the ancient Greeks called the Big Dipper "Ursa Major" or
"Big Bear". The ancient Irish and French called the Big Dipper the
"Chariot," and the British referred to it as the "Plough". So you can
see how star gazing and studying the constellations to find shapes in
the patterns can cause a single constellation to have multiple names.
Another thing that contributes to these differing names is the expansion
of the universe. The stars are moving and changing positions in the
sky, which can make them look less like what they were originally named
and more like something completely different.
